This has been my favorite canister since it went on the market. I clean houses for a living and couldn’t do it without this vacuum.
It’s light weight, bagless, and a nice small sleek design. The newer models of this size are fatter, and bulky to haul around. Plus they don’t last, I’ve tried them. I keep coming back to this model. I’ve found that as long as you regularly keep the dirt cup clean and brush and bang out the filter, this model lasts and lasts. Even when we’ve cleaned up sheet rock dust. We cleaned the dirt cup after and it’s still working. Empty it after each use and you’ll keep this canister vacuum for years of use. Plus, I especially like the brush floor attachment for all tile, vinyl and wood floor vacuuming. I wear those out faster than the vacuum!

So far this is what it was described to be. It has good suction on my hardwwod floors. Very easy to empty its large cannister. It has on board attachment holders, which make them handy when you need them. Good price for what it is. A+

All-in-all, this is a good value canister vac. My main issue is, as much as the see-through dirt-container needs to be emptied, the seam running the length of this see-through plastic piece appears designed to come apart after a couple of months. I am in 2nd week since receiving this new purchase from Amazon, and it already manifests looseness at the seam. I will contact Mfgr to see if they will replace “no-questions-asked”. If not, I will return to Amazon and simply buy another one. I agree with other posters re: retractable cord. These days, that would seem minimally basic, unless it’s made in China, which means quality will be an issue in all respects. They just seem to be taking us back to the dark ages of customer expectations for logical amenities when things are made in China. I believe customers need to punish manufacturers who resort to subscribing to this lower-level of quality output of everything made in China. I mean, the cord is barely long enough, so I will not complain about it’s length, but the cords very fabric, pliability seems to be cheap and again, without appreciation to design/engineer any aspect of quality or longevity. Ditto on suction hose. It is adequate, but barely so, again, especially in regards to it’s pliability, which affects it’s ability to twist and turn as you do… But this vacuum is 10x better than the higher prices Dirt Devils with that heavy and cumbersome handle at the end of the hose.

After failing to find these hepa vac bag replacements in Home Depot/Lowes type stores, I hopped onto the Internet to see where I can get these besides from Sears. I was pleased to find the replacement bags through an Amazon vendor – and only (free shipping) for 3 of them! These are cloth bags, not paper, which is what I wanted.
MoreQualityLessMoney is a great vendor. They arrived promptly and fit into my Kenmore canister Progressive vacuum cleaner just fine (firmly wiggle the cardboard insert in). I like the large capacity of cloth bags – don’t have to change them as often.

These are, hands down, the best replacement bags I have purchased for my Kenmore canister vac. The Kenmore branded ones don’t hold as much and DO NOT contain pet odors. These are amazing…no scent whatsoever comes thru these bags. Great price too.

These bags are larger than standard microfiltration paper bags. They are of a more flexible fabric-like material. They seem to hold about 50% MORE than the standard bag. I am very satisfied with these, they work well in my kenmore vacuum.

I have three Kenmore canister vacuum cleaners that use bag 50558. These work fine in all of my cleaners. I have AMAZON PRIME and they got here the very next day. It sure beats driving ten miles to the Sears store. I will buy these again as they are exactly what I wanted. I only wish they offered a package with more than three.

When I first received my vacuum bags, they were the generic brand. I called the company that they came from and they told me to send them back and they would replace them with the Oreck brand. I did receive the right bags and I am very happy with them. I priced these bags in an OReck store and these bags were way better priced.

I usually buy the Sears cloth HEPA filter bags that come two to a package for my Kenmore canister vacuum. For the same price (or less) this offer includes nine quality, lined paper bags by Envirocare that are stated to capture 99.7% of all allergens. These bags fit the vacuum perfectly, and the bag itself seems to fit the cavity of the vacuum better than the cloth bags do. When I switched to these bags I noticed a huge difference in the amount of suction power the vacuum seems to have. Overall these bags are a great value for the money.

B&M Housewares is advertising EnviroCare bags for Kenmore Canister vacs 5055, but is shipping a very low end Dust Vacuum Corp (DVC) bag. They are not microfilter, they are not even as large as the standard bag. Total Bait and Switch. Shame on you BM.

We are just getting over a flea problem in our house and needed to change our bags daily. You can imagine that we didn’t want to use expensive bags, but certainly did not want cheap bags that ripped or were too loose. These bags are cheaper and fit our vacuum perfectly. We just wish we had learned about them before!

These are cheap paper bags, not the HEPA cloth ones. They are also significantly smaller than the “Kenmore Q – replaces 50557″ ones that I was replacing. Although the write-up and photo of the product on the Amazon site indicated that they were for 50557 and 50558 bags, the product that I received only says 5055 on the package.
