Best Toy We Own, May 1, 2010

I was looking to buy my son a typical ring stacker but saw this in my searching and got it instead. I’m so glad we did because it’s the best toy we own. I bought it when my son was 12 months old and it’s been his favorite toy for the last 3 months. I thought it would be too advanced for him but he figured it out right away. And then he started trying to put it together in different ways. He is fascinated by trying to put the pieces on in different orders or seeing if he can put them on upside down. Because there are so many more ways to put the pieces together (some that work and some that don’t) he has a great time exploring. He also uses some of the individual pieces in different ways like using the green tube as a telescope. The toy itself is very attractive looking and very sturdy. It’s solid wood but the pieces aren’t too heavy for a young child to manipulate. The pieces are stained and not painted so I don’t worry about my son chewing on any of the pieces. I can’t say enough good things about this toy. It’s simple but wonderful.

Like a ring stacker, but so much better!, December 5, 2007

My son has a couple of basic ring stackers, but this cone sorter by Plan Toys, while using the same concept, draws his attention and holds it for much longer than his basic ones. The interior tubes must be assembled by size before the outer rings can be added. At 12 months, my son definitely needs help in putting it together, but he is absolutely fascinated by the way the tubes slide into one another, as well as the way the outer rings hide the tubes. This toy will be excellent for teaching colors, size differences, and spatial relationships. And when we don’t want to take it that seriously, the tubes are great for rolling on hardwood floors. This cone stacker provides a unique challenge that no other toy we’ve found offers!

**Now at age 3, my son still enjoys playing with this. It’s a toy that I rotate in and out of his collection, so that it seems “new.”

I bought this toy during a sale months ago but followed the box and held off on giving it to our daughter until she turned two. Now that she is playing with it I am regretting not giving it to her at least ten months ago. I would not hesitate to give this toy to a one year old. Our daughter had it figured out in a day but continues to creatively play with it. Sometimes she makes a mistake but she problem solves and fixes it. And this is such an elegant looking toy as well. I actually love looking at it!

My inlaws gave us a traditional plastic set of stacking colored rings which she got about a week before I remembered that I had this in our closet. She showed very little interest in that and wouldn’t learn from her mistakes like she does from the much more complex Plan version. I noticed that Plan offers a more traditional ring stacker, I would take this over that any day!

We have a number of Plan toys but so far this is our favorite. I expect my daughter to be enjoying this for a long time.

Impressed, December 22, 2010

I ordered this for a 4 year old girl for Christmas. I had a limit and wanted something that was of good quality. After reading reviews of different products, this is the one I chose. After she opened her gift we started to play with it right away. I was impressed with the quality of the polish. I thought that it would be very cheap and barely cover our nails but that wasn’t the case at all. There were also nail pens that were very fun to play with. We used them to put each letter of my cousin’s name on her nails. The pens wrote so clearly. Included was a good number of stickers to put on your nails but only enough jewels for one person.

The problem is after playing with the pens for 30 minutes both were broken. They have a very small metal tip that the polish comes out of and is very cheaply made.

Overall we were very impressed with this child’s gift. If you are extremely careful with the nail polish pens everything will be great!

My six year old daughter says it’s “very good” because of “the little pointy thing that comes with paint that you can shake and make little designs” on your nails, and “your children may like it” because “your parents or your grandparents can give it to you”. Also “there’s a little baggie that comes with it to put the nail things in it”.

9 year old and friends love it!, March 7, 2011

My daughter loves this set. Its very well made, the nail polish isnt cheap and it stays on the nails nicely. Shortly after I purchased it for her, a group of her friends came over for a play-date. She painted all 8 girls and still has polish left over. The colors are perfect for any young girl, and the sizes are right for her to do it by herself. The only complaint are the stickers, but those never seem to stick on anyones nails out of any set I have ever gotten. Get this for any girl 7-12 and I am sure they will love it!

We took a chance and bought this toy without any reviews, therefore knowing nothing about it. It was a good choice! We’ve only had it for a little over a week, but it is a popular toy with my 7 month old and even my almost 3 year old. My 7 month old loves to play with his crinkly ears! She still doesn’t crawl yet, but it is perfect to help her learn. All you have to do is barely pat the dog and it moves forward. I like that it doesn’t go too far to encourage the baby to go after it. It makes cute noises and plays cute songs. You can make the dog go straight or in circles by bending the accordion part of his body. You can also set it so it doesn’t move. You have the option of muting it too, which is nice if you get tired of the songs and noises. This is a great “chase and crawl” toy to help babies who are learning to crawl and for those who already do crawl!

I gave this toy to my 9 month old for Christmas and he loved it. It is so cute and it is very durable (it has already been dropped several times and ridden by a two year old.) It walks really well on my tile floors but not at all on the carpet. But it is a way cute toy!

This toy is very cute. My baby likes the sounds it makes and the crinkly ears. However, I bought this toy to help him learn how to crawl and the toy DOES NOT move at all on the carpet. At first I thought I had a defective one but I put it on the kitchen floor and it moved fine. What baby learns to crawl on the kitchen floor, though?! I would not have purchased this item with that knowledge.

Ahoy, Great Toys!, October 5, 2007

Better than burried treasure, this fill and spill is a real find. Each creature has a unique feature and is brightly colored. Perfect for tiny hands, each day we find something different to enjoy. Some days the rattle of the octopuss is a favorite, and some days the squeak of the starfish makes us smile. And putting the pieces in and out of the little aquarium is endlessly entertaining. Everything seems well stitched and looks like it will last.

Looks like a great toy- but smaller than appears…, December 10, 2007

I am giving this as a gift- so I have yet to open it. It looks like a great toy, well made and nice packaging. It looks age appropriate and the colors and soft materials will definitely attract my nephew.

I am unsure what the “product description size” by amazon is referring to- as the product box is 12x8x6- so the toy appears to be 7.5 x 6. It is smaller than I thought according to the GIANT picture and product dimensions.

Great Infant Toy, March 3, 2009

Received as a gift when DS was 4 months old. He didn’t get into it until he was about 7 months old, but now at almost 9 months, he LOVES this toy. He specifically seems to love the starfish. Maybe it’s the textured bottom that he likes to teeth on, or the fact that he can hold it from so many different angles. He enjoys the rest of them also, but the starfish is definitely a favorite.

The bowl itself is very well-designed for baby hands. DS can grab onto the sides easily because they’re made to be flap-like.

I also like the fact that the toys inside are machine washable. Have already washed them several times and they have held up well. Other toys have lost their noise-making ability, or worn out in the wash, but no problems with these.

Other reviews mentioned that it’s tough to get the toys out of the bowl. Probably true, but hasn’t been a huge issue for us.

Do NOT be mislead!!! UNSAFE toy!, October 8, 2010

It’s infuriating and misleading that these balls are marketed as “phthalate-free.” That may be true, but it does NOT mean they are safe! They are made of PVC, a super toxic plastic that off-gases dangerous fumes and releases potentially carcinogenic chemicals! I don’t know about you, but I do not want my baby chewing on that!

I had my suspicions about this product’s safety when I noticed that the balls have that beach ball “smell.” I checked, [...]– and, sure enough, discovered the PVC.

It’s such a shame that a mother must do detective work in order to confirm the safety of her child’s toys!

I bought for my almost 3yr old boy who has SPD(sensory processing disorder) and he loves them, as does my 6 yr old son and myself. They are perfect for gripping, rolling, throwing, massaging and they are not sharp or harmful. I only gave 4 stars because it would have been better if they were all different sizes.

Really great for babies!, June 24, 2009

My 1 year old loves it when we take off his shirt and roll these down his back and sides. They are small enough for him to pick up with both hands and he loves the feel. The balls seem to be well made and have a valve like a basket ball to fill them with more air if desired. Recommend to anyone.

Buzz Operation, September 27, 2010

Fun game for the young Buzz Lightyear fan. I thought my youngest son might be scared by the “BUZZZ” when you hit the edges, but what do you know? They’ve changed the sound! All kinds of beeps and spacey sounds; not nearly as startling (maybe that makes it less fun for the older boys and us parents that remember the old ones?!) Still a fun game!

Buzz Lightyear themed Operation Game, December 31, 2010

This is a fun family night game, however, it does require some small muscle coordination so it could be a bit frustrating for the younger child. We have a 5 year old who can do it, however, the box says 6 and up and that is a truer picture of who might play w/o frustration.

I bought this for my Granddaughter for Christmas and she is only 4. She can’t play the game as instructed by enjoys trying to remove “Buzz’s” bones. We discuss the names of the parts and she is learning the proper names anyway. She practices removing the parts without making it buzz. As she grows she’ll learn to play it the proper way but for now it’s fun like it is.

Step back in time with this classic, the Three Pigs, and bring on the fun! The chubby pigs are the perfect size for a toddler’s hand to squeeze and let out a squeak. They can hide in their color-matched soft homes with plenty of doors and windows to open and close to teach early prepositions like “in,” out,” ” back” and “front.” Kids love to stuff the big bad wolf (and all the pigs for that matter) down the chimney and watch him magically appear inside the house. Carry on little conversations with your pigs as your toddler chooses one to speak for too.

As a speech pathologist with Play on Words, I look for toys that have a lot to describe. Babies and toddlers’ receptive language (understanding) has been outpacing their expressive language (actually saying words) as they hear and store new vocabulary words. But at 1
